You would not be the first person to leave the entire motorcycle full of marks because the stickers have not completely come off, having to subsequently apply all kinds of cleaning products such as solvents or products with ethyl alcohol.
From Pont Grup we are going to give you a hand and teach you how to remove the stickers from your motorcycle easily without leaving a trace of them, with the method recommended by professionals: applying hot air on the stickers. Pay attention and take note!
How to remove the stickers from your motorcycle in just 2 steps
To begin with, you should know that the tool that we recommend using to remove the sticker from your motorcycle is a kind of hair dryer with a lot of power, called a stripper (it is a heat gun), which you can buy for only 20 euros in any store. This is what you should do:
You must point the stripper at it, in such a way that with its hot air it makes the glue on the sticker soften.
Once you check that it is flexible enough, you can start pulling the corners of the sticker and peel it off slowly and evenly. Remember that you can gradually give hot air again if necessary.
Important! Do not try to remove the sticker from your motorcycle with a strong jerk, otherwise you run the risk of leaving pieces of it stuck.
How to remove adhesive residue
Even so, it is possible that when removing the adhesive from the motorcycle, parts of glue or the sticker itself may have remained. If that is your case, we recommend 2 possible options to remove the adhesive residue from your motorcycle :
Take a cloth, dip it in a mixture of alcohol and water, and give it to the area where the pieces of sticker and / or glue have remained.
Use specialized furniture cleaning products, or acetone. With these you will be able to give more shine to the painting.
However, if the sticker in question is polymeric, being a higher quality material, it is more likely that removing the sticker from your motorcycle or its remains will not pose any problems.
Considerations when removing a sticker from your motorcycle
One aspect to consider is that, if the sticker you are trying to remove has been stuck for a long time, surely the area in which it is found has acquired a different tone due to its little contact with sunlight.
There are certain stickers, such as those that come from the factory with the motorcycle, that you will not be able to remove so easily. In these cases, you can only remove them by sanding the area where the adhesive is located, since it is under the layer of varnish that the motorcycle brings.
There is a myth of the effectiveness of certain products to remove a sticker from the motorcycle , such as solvent or gasoline, but the reality is quite different, since their corrosive effect can burn and damage the motorcycle's paint.
